The term fairytale might get tossed around loosely, but it does not in this context. It's not everyday that we get to design a true fairytale wedding, but the nuptials of Rhianna and Azi was nothing short of breathtaking and magical. The beautiful couple tied the knot in an elegant ceremony that blended modern sophistication with African tradition in Appleton on May 31, 2024.
A fairytale? Yes. Did I know I was designing a wedding for a Prince and future Princess - simply put, no. I had no idea....and I think that is what makes this story even more magical!
After the wedding, it was shared with me that the Groom is the Prince of the Madi Tribe (in Uganda) and that Rhianna would indeed now be a Princess. This was truly a royal wedding.
In December 2023, I connected with the bride to learn more about her Spring wedding. Rhianna shared that she had met her fiancé five years ago through a mutual friend, but became closer friends as the years went by. Rhianna described her detailed vision for her dream day - full of bright colors to honor Azi's African heritage.
The wedding itself was held at Homestead Meadows Farm in Appleton, Wisconsin. The renovated barn and rolling hills with lush greenery was a beautiful location for Rhianna & Azi's wedding. Rhianna and Azi exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony and held their reception inside the facility. The guests, who came from all over the world, were treated to a variety of food that included both African and international cuisine.
There were several highlights during the wedding day. The cultures, the African-inspired wedding attire, a beautiful display of two families coming together, along with the vibrant flowers. The wedding was not just a celebration of love, but also a tribute to the rich and vibrant African culture. The overall ambiance of the event was a mix of glamour, sophistication, and culture, making it an unforgettable wedding.
I was honored to be a part of Rhianna & Azi's royal wedding day.
